What we offer
Editorial services for serious researchers
Every service is delivered personally by Dr Mambambo John — a doctoral scholar, published author, and managing editor with active experience in international scholarly publishing.
Proofreading
Final-pass correction of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and typographical errors. For work that has already been edited and is approaching submission or publication.
Copy-editing
Comprehensive correction of grammar, syntax, word choice, consistency, and referencing accuracy — ensuring your manuscript reads with precision and authority without displacing your voice.
Academic Language Editing
In-depth editing of academic register, argument clarity, sentence structure, and disciplinary conventions. Particularly suited to researchers writing in English as an additional language.
Developmental Editing
Structural review of argumentation, chapter organisation, logic, and coherence — best undertaken before copy-editing to provide a revision roadmap ahead of final submission.
Journal Article Editing
Language editing and copy-editing of journal manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed publications, with attention to journal style guides, abstract quality, and reviewer-facing clarity.
Dissertation & Thesis Editing
Full editorial service for master’s dissertations and doctoral theses — from individual chapters through to complete manuscript review, with turnaround times tailored to your deadline.
About the editor
A scholar who edits. Not merely an editor.
Dr Mambambo John holds a PhD in Languages, Linguistics and Literature from the University of South Africa, where he was awarded his degree with distinction. He is a published author, translator, and postdoctoral research fellow — and has spent over fifteen years working at the intersection of academic scholarship and professional editorial practice.
His editorial work is grounded in a genuine understanding of the intellectual and institutional pressures that postgraduate researchers face. He does not simply correct; he reads with scholarly attention, and edits with care for what a manuscript is trying to argue and achieve.
Based in Norwich, England, he is currently Managing Editor at PA Editorial Ltd, overseeing peer-reviewed journals within the Taylor & Francis portfolio via ScholarOne — bringing the operational precision of professional scholarly publishing to every editorial engagement.

How it works
A clear, straightforward editorial process
Every project follows the same structured approach — ensuring transparency, reliability, and a finished manuscript you can submit with confidence.
Initial consultation
Share your manuscript, deadline, and requirements. We discuss the level of edit needed and confirm scope and fee.
Editorial review
Your manuscript is read in full before editing begins. All changes are made using tracked changes in Microsoft Word — nothing is altered silently.
Delivery & report
You receive the edited manuscript alongside a concise editorial report noting key observations, patterns, and queries for your attention.
Follow-up
A post-delivery window for questions and clarifications. Light review of newly revised passages can be arranged at no additional cost.
Ready to work together?
Whether your thesis submission is six weeks away or six months, the best time to discuss editorial support is now.
